A few days ago I went to Shea Stadium and had a sour experience. You can read that here. The bright spot of that day was a 6 year old girl named Gina Marie Incandela. Gina has a form of autism that did not allow her to speak before she was 3. As part of her therapy, she took singing lessons. As it turned out, she sings really well. The reason I know this is because Gina’s mother reached out to me through the comments section of my post. I guess we here at Major League Jerk are getting more well known than we thought. Which is crazy when you think about it. Anyway, I have a link to Gina’s website. Her story is fascinating and you should check it out. I thank Hef for making me write the post, swear words and all. I also thank Jason McIntyre over at The Big Lead for linking to it this morning. I guess when he is not flexing in the mirror, he is good enough to help us out. Gina’s story is inspirational. There are many kids and their families that have to deal with Autism everyday. Some like Gina and their family are seeing hope and progress in their battle. Others are still working towards that hope and progress. I don’t want to be one of those guys that beats a dead horse or takes up a cause and beats you with it. I just want you to remember that sometimes there are little things in your life that trigger something deeper. Gina’s voice helped me trigger my something deeper. I have a 4 month old daughter. I can only hope she can display the strength and courage in her life that Gina does every day.

Well, you’re not fulfilling your guys’ promise to act like jerks, but I’ll let it slide for this one. Nice post Roman
Gina is an amazing girl and we had the pleasure of meeting with her to discuss her new projects: http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-25075-Orlando-Charity-Examiner~y2009m10d1-Gina-Marie-Incandela–Telling-her-own-story-through-music
